Nuria De Miguel

Volunteer Services Manager - Central West London NHS Foundation Trust

Nuria de Miguel is the Volunteer Services Manager at Central and North West London CNWL NHS Foundation Trust. Her role leads on the strategic development of volunteering across the Trust.

Nuria believes in the power of volunteering both for the individual and the cause, and the importance of providing meaningful opportunities where people can thrive and develop their skills, and volunteering as a step into employment/ education. Nuria values co-production, involvement and collaboration as a way to achieve the best outcomes for staff, patients and volunteers.

Nuria trained in Psychology and has a master in Organisational Psychology. She has worked in a variety of roles in the non-for profit and health sector since moving to London in 2004, at both an operational and strategic level within local, regional and UK wide contexts.

Through these roles she has focused on upskilling staff and organisations to build confidence in involving, working with and supporting volunteers, developing volunteering strategies and action plans, relevant policies, procedures and handbooks and writing and delivering training in Volunteer Management, achieving the Investing in Volunteers Award and volunteer awards by the Mayor of London and Helpforce.

In her spare time, she is also a volunteer herself, having volunteered in several roles as a ESOL teacher, mentor and more recently with local charities in ad hoc roles
