Head of Volunteering,
Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Petula Storey has been Head of Volunteering at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for the past four years. She is responsible for the Trust’s volunteer programme that covers all of its sites across south east London and Kent. Petula started out as an engineer and moved into the voluntary sector nearly 20 years ago. She has worked in the UK, the Caribbean and USA. In the UK, she has worked for the British Red Cross, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the National Autistic Society. During her time in the USA, she was Director of Volunteer Services for a non-profit organisation that supported the elderly and advocated on aging issues. Petula has been a member of various steering groups ensuring best practice in volunteering and community engagement at a local and national level, ranging from the London Mayor’s Health Inequalities Strategy, NHS guidance on recruiting and managing volunteers and Employee Volunteering in NHSE/I. She also independently reviewed The King's Fund Report - The role of volunteers in the NHS - views from the front line.  Petula is passionate about volunteering and has volunteered herself for various charities over the years.
